Digital learning in tourism

The Corona Pandemic of 2020 poses challenges to the world, and in particular to global tourism, that were previously beyond our thinking. To sales and marketing in tourism – born out of necessity, so to speak – the pandemic brought a sustainable digitalisation push, which will complement and perhaps replace traditional instruments in the “new normal”.

Even before the pandemic, PATA Deutschland e.V. was already focusing on the development of e-learning formats for stationary and mobile travel sales, young tourism professionals and other travel experts. 13 e-learning courses on Asian destinations can be accessed on the PATA website, more are in the pipeline. We have coupled this digital form of learning with customer loyalty elements: Travel professionals can use the e-learning platform to get certified as “Asia Specialist powered by PATA” and join PATA Germany as a travel agency member.
